Entrepreneurs: Some products/service are ideally suited for Internet sales, some are not.

Determining what types of products/services are suited for Internet sales is an excellent exercise to hone one's business and marketing intelligence skills. Clearly, some items are well suited for Internet sales, while others are probably not. Here are some ideas that would have soiled success chances, if sold through the Internet:

- E-education; such as video classes, video conferences, pod casts, and so on
- E-media; such as e-books, graphic materials, and so on
- Services that do not require a direct interaction with another person; such as ticket sales, research/analysis efforts, and so on
- Software products/services
- Specialty products/services; loan applications, memorabilia, seasonal items/decorations
- Translation products/services; English-X-English, and so on.

Some items, are however not ideally suited for the Internet:

- Food products with a short shelf-life; breads, eggs, fish, ice cream, meats, etc.
- Products/services that require you to go someplace to get the deliverable; like gasoline, certain medical services
- Products/services involving live animals
