Your Website is but one facet of your company/enterprise. What is of importance to note is that Websites are also one of the most visible components of any business operation. They need to be maintained as up-to-date as possible. Information that is not rotated or changed on a regular basis, especially for long periods of time, may give its readers/visitors the impression that the site is "stale"; you are not as focused on bringing in new business and maintaining old customers as you should be.

Some Websites need to be updated every day, especially those that may deal with subjects such as, but not limited to, business, finance and market information, local/national/international news, sports or weather related services. Websites dealing with less time sensitive intricacies, such as antiques or art collections may not need to be updated every day. If your Website visitors enter your Website and are impressed by what the see, they will surely return another day.

Here are a few of the many actions you can take to keep your Website up-to-date:

- Somewhere on the home page, show when the last update was made.
- Add a small holiday-theme item to your Website - even a small "Happy xxx" or "Best holiday wishes" can be seen as a nice gesture.
- Post a cartoon/contest/fun fact/joke of the day/week.
- Update the "What is new at the company" page on a regular basis.
- Implement other Website enhancement items you can think of.

What do you gain by keeping your Website up-to-date? Plenty! Your site will be viewed as being a friendly - and professional - place to visit and do business with. Traffic to your Website should increase, because more people "connect" with the positive image(s) you are presenting. This in turn also means that your customer base will also become stronger and larger.
